The symposium will provide a platform for understanding and discussing the importance of biodiversity and share our knowledge derived from manifold activities in our region. [10 August 2010] UGEC created a dynamic wiki website that includes all the relevant and up-to-date information regarding the UGEC 2010 Conference in October. Second announcement is that UGEC has now initiated a nomination process for the expansion of its Scientific Steering Committee (SSC). More information on this process and how to apply for a spot in the SSC can be found on the first page of their official website: www.ugec.org/. This round of application and nomination requests for new SSC membership starts immediately. The application/nomination deadline is August 31st 2010.
 
APN seeks Biodiversity Experts from the Asia-Pacific Region. [03 August 2010] The APN will shortly convene a scoping workshop (early 2011) to discuss a synthesis of Biodiversity activities that have been undertaken in the Asia-Pacific region in the context of Global Environmental Change. If you are interested in taking part in this scoping exercise, please send a Letter of Intent to Dr. Linda Anne Stevenson, APN Executive Science Officer at lastevenson@apn-gcr.org by October 1, 2010. The Letter should include details of your expertise and involvement in Asia-Pacific based activities.
